What this diagram shows
The excludes weekends line removes Saturdays and Sundays from the axis, so a 3d task starting on a Thursday ends the following Monday. Backend and frontend run as parallel sections starting the same day, and Regression run depends on be2 so QA begins as soon as the backend work lands. The Release candidate milestone marks the end of the sprint.
How to adapt it
- Set the first start date to your sprint start and keep everything else relative with
after. - Add a
section Reviewwith a one-daySprint demotask so the ceremony shows on the chart. - Tag anything that must ship this sprint with
critso the red bars stand out in the planning review. - Add
todayMarker offif the chart is a template rather than a live plan, so the vertical today line does not appear.
FAQ
Does "excludes weekends" change the duration or just the drawing?
Both. A 3d task counts three working days, so its bar stretches across any weekend in the middle. Public holidays are not excluded unless you list them as dates after excludes.
Can I show who owns each task?
Not as a column, but you can put the name in the task label (Payment retry endpoint - Ana) or use one section per person instead of per discipline.
