What this diagram shows
The root((Roadmap 2027)) node uses double parentheses for a circle. Each quarter is a first-level branch with a one-word theme (Foundations, Growth, Scale) and the leaves under it are the initiatives. Indentation defines the hierarchy, so the file must use spaces consistently; two spaces per level is the convention this example follows.
How to adapt it
- Rename the quarter branches to
Now,Next,Laterif your team avoids calendar commitments. - Add a fourth level under an initiative only when the leaf names alone would be ambiguous to an executive audience.
- Use
::icon(fa fa-mobile)after a node label when the Font Awesome stylesheet is available on your page. - Keep each branch to three or four leaves; a mindmap with twenty leaves per quarter is a backlog, not a roadmap.
FAQ
Why does my mindmap break when I copy it from a chat window?
Mindmaps rely on indentation, and some editors convert spaces to tabs or trim leading whitespace. Re-indent with two spaces per level and make sure every child is indented more than its parent.
Can I show which initiatives are done, in progress, or planned?
Not with built-in status markers. Use a short prefix in the label such as Done - Audit log, or give each state a different node shape: [Done] square, (In progress) rounded, plain text for planned.
